Our garden

On Sunday, Papa and I worked in our garden. We hoed and put manure in the beds. Then we went to the farmer’s market to buy plants. The farmers do not sell seeds, only plants growing in little pots. We bought lettuces, tomatoes, basil, and one eggplant. We also bought three kinds of flowers, 12 yellow melipodium, three purple low vining flowers, and one tall yellow flower that I picked out. Then we brought our plants home and drove to the hardware store. We bought sunflower seeds and three huge bags of mulch. I wanted to buy cucumbers but papa said we could buy seedlings at the market next week. I was really interested in buying some rainbow chard but they had no seeds at the store and no plants at the market. When we got home, we planted everything but the sunflowers. Then we mulched and watered the new plants. Mulch stops weeds from growing and also keeps water from evaporating. I plan to grow a sunflower house from the sunflower seeds. There is a way to make a roof for a sunflower house, but I decided to have the sky as my roof.

I love your idea of using the sky as your roof.
I'm enjoying your blog. Keep up the good work.
